Our Mission
At 6B Ranch
After much hard work, our neighborhood became a Certified Firewise Community in April of 2020.
The 6B and Friends Firewise Community is comprised of 95+ parcels on Thoroughbred Loop, McCourtney Road, South Ponderosa Way, Brass Circle, Marin Place, Hidden Valley Road, Utah Road, Asphodel Close, Swaps Court, Khalid Court and Scotts Drive.

As of May 2024, 98 Firewise Communities in Nevada County have attained certification and many more are working towards this goal.

The advantages of being an officially certified FIrewise Community include:
- Increased fire safety awareness
- Updates and resources to help residents learn about wildfire and how to reduce risk
- Access to information on evacuation, home hardening, insurance and defensible space
